Hastymail has many features that help make managing your E-mail account(s) easy and fast. I get TONS of E-mail, and dealing with it effectively can be troublesome. So Hastymail has been designed to work with large amounts of messages quickly, but also to provide advanced features that help you get to what you want rapidly. Here are some highlights of the features Hastymail has to offer:

   The thing we all do most with an E-mail client is fetch new messages, and if you are like me and filter messages into different folders upon arrival, it can be time consuming to load each folder and page through the unread E-mail. The "New" page makes this process painless. Any folder can be configured to be included on this page by selecting it on the "Folders" page. All unread messages in selected folders will have the headers displayed just like the main mailbox listing page, grouped by folder, including the message controls for read, copy, move, and delete.

   For mobile users Hastymail has a simple mode option, which can be selected on a per user basis or set to auto-detect based on the web browsers user-agent string. Simple mode cuts the page sizes down to a bare mimimum and is designed to work on a small screen device. Simple mode is ideal for browsers like Blazer and WebPro on PalmOS.

   As accounts grow in size, a good search function becomes a must. Hastymail has a powerful but easy to use search page. Combine date range, a search string, message flags and size paramaters while searching as many or few folders as your like simultaneously. Search results and paramaters are cached so you can return to them at any time without having to rerun the search. When you open a message from the search results you can use the previous and next in search links to traverse the search list, even across folders. From the results page you can even move, copy, delete, etc. any of the messages.

   For mailing list subscribers, a way to group messages by thread is a great feature. Hastymail lets you sort a folder by thread (if your IMAP server supports it) but that can be a pain because new messages on an old thread are hard to track down. Hastymail solves this problem with the "Thread view" page. Open a message, then click "thread view". You will then get a page with a listing of the current message thread, including an arrow to indicate the last read. From here you can open any message in the thread and you will see previous and next in thread links at the top of the page to let you advance through the thread.
